The data controller responsible for this Service is Jiří Gališ (IČO: 14309173), contactable via email at jiri@naturescout.app. We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local data protection laws.
2. Data We Collect & Legal Basis
We only process personal data when there is a valid legal basis to do so:
- Waitlist Email (Website): Based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), we store your email to notify you about our launch.
- Cookies & Analytics (Website): Based on your explicit consent via our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 for anonymous traffic measurement.
- Account Authentication (App): To fulfill our contractual obligation to provide you with an account (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), we collect your name, email, and profile picture URL via Google Authentication.
- Photos and GPS (App): Based on your explicit device-level consent, photos and precise GPS coordinates are stored on our servers to enable the core in-game map functionality. This data is strictly used for gameplay and is never used for marketing profiling.
- Offline Mode (App): Data captured offline is temporarily cached on your device and synced to our servers based on the performance of our service agreement.
3. Third-Party Processors & Data Transfers
To operate and secure our Service, we share data with trusted processors. When data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), specifically to the United States, it is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework:
- Cloudinary Ltd.: For secure photo storage and optimization.
- Google Ireland Ltd.: For app authentication (Firebase) and website analytics.
- Google LLC: For AI-powered species identification via Google Generative AI (Gemini). Your data is processed securely and is not used to train public models.
- MailerLite: For waitlist subscription management.
- Vercel Inc.: For website hosting.
4. Data Retention & Your Rights
We store your data only for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly inside the mobile app settings (UserProfile) for an instant and permanent wipe.
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access and export your data
- Right to rectification (correction)
- Right to erasure ("Right to be forgotten")
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time
